Salaries and pensions in Bulgaria.
Average salaries in Bulgaria for low-skilled labor in the largest cities amount to 470 BGN (11 337 RUB) to 640 BGN (15 438 RUB) per month. This is the data from the Biggest Cities Review, which examines the labor market in the country.
Since 2013, there has been an increase in the level of wages of workers with the lowest qualifications.
According to the same data, the average salary in Sofia is 1000 levs (24,122 rubles).
Since January 1, 2014, the minimum wage for labor in Bulgaria has become 340 levs (8,220 rubles). UPD: from January 1, 2016, the minimum wage is 420 levs.
This figure is very important for emigrants – it determines the amount on the account in the bank, a certificate of which is necessary for processing documents for a residence permit in Bulgaria.
As for pensions, the minimum pension in Bulgaria from July 1 will be 155 levs (3,739 rubles), and the maximum pension is 840 levs (20,263 rubles).
By the way, despite the fact that Bulgaria has such criteria as a minimum pension and a minimum wage, many people get less of these minimum rates, and at an official level. For example, for pensioners whose pension is less than 250 levs there is a surcharge of 50 levs from the state, and for veterans of the war a surcharge of 110 levs.
The poverty threshold in Bulgaria is 241 levs (5 797 rubles), followed by 40% of the country’s population.
A little bit about the pension experience in Bulgaria:
Bulgarian women have the right to a guaranteed pension over the age of 60.8 years, and men – 63.8 years. At the same time, women have to work over 34.8 years, and men 37.8 years.
Also in the Bulgarian Labor Code there is an article that gives citizens the right to retire at 65.8 years with a minimum of 15 years of service.
