Do I need IELTS.
IELTS – whether it is necessary for all programs offered today by the industry related to the immigration and visa processes in Australia and which score is considered pass-through is the most delicate question that plagues anyone facing the prospect of putting the test in the future into a state of prolonged stress.
Let’s try to figure out what exactly IELTS is and how terrible it is.
IELTS (English International English Language Testing System) is an international English language testing system for determining the skills of those who are going to emigrate, study or practice in an English-speaking environment and can determine the level of English proficiency in people for whom English is not relatives.
IELTS consists of 4 sections that are dealt in the following order: Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking. The sections Listening and Speaking for all are the same, whereas Reading and Writing differ depending on which version of the test is selected – Academic (academic – usually used for filing documents to universities) or General (common – in most cases used for immigration processes). The total test duration for the sections Listening, Reading and Writing is about 2 hours and 45 minutes. These three modules always pass in this order, and without interruptions. The Speaking section can pass separately, depending on the test center, with an interval of 7 days before or after the other modules.
Listening – lasts 40 minutes, of which 30 – directly listening, plus 10 minutes for transfer of answers to the form. In this module there can be dialogues and monologues, both on a household and on a scientific topic; Reading is exactly one hour, for which it is necessary to answer questions on texts of different levels. Usually this is 3-4 pieces that are not related to each other from the text, announcements about recruiting for courses, articles in the newspaper; Writing – exactly one hour for which you must complete 2 tasks, the first of which is different for academic and general levels. Task one for an academic module consists of a description of the diagram or table, using at least 150 words. Task one for the general level consists in writing a letter on a given topic. In this case, it is necessary to strictly observe the style of writing: formal (most often), informal or semiformal. The second task (task two) is the same for both modules and consists in writing an essay on a given topic, which should consist of at least 250 words; Speaking – from 11 to 14 minutes. In this module the candidate is interviewed with the examiner one by one. In case of an appeal, the interview is recorded. It is usually divided into 3 parts. In the first part, the examiner and the candidate get acquainted. In the second part, the examiner issues a card with the given topic and three tips, which the examiner should disclose in the form of a monologue in 1-2 minutes. Time to prepare – 1 minute. The third part occurs in the question-answer mode, which is relevant to the topic of the second part. The answer must be deployed with the pros and cons.
IELTS results are scored on a 9-point scale, covering possible levels of English proficiency. The score can be rounded to half a point.
After talking with anyone who passed this test for the required score, it’s easy to imagine that the filonite will not work. The test, if necessary, will have to be taken and done honestly. Prepare for IELTS in advance. Today, there are a lot of courses that qualify for the IELTS and if in your case a certificate with a certain average IELTS result is required, our advice is to pass the IELTS test right now with the purpose of determining your level and start the training to increase it immediately. But before the exam, take a month to study the structure of the exam and the preparation, because tasks are very specific. Even a native speaker (native speaker), not knowing all the subtleties of the exam, is likely to pass it not to the highest score. But this does not mean that the exam is very complicated, you just need to prepare for it. More information can be found on the official website of the British Council.
Based on the systematics of this issue, we decided to give a series of answers to it.
Yes. There are such cases. A number of visas and their subclasses fall under such conditions. Excluding tourist visas, where everything is clear as a day, consider a number of other popular visas.
Working visas – in cases of presence of a confirmed labor contract, nomination (petition) by the employer of the candidate, as well as in the case of entering the bond for the candidate by the employer;
“Nevestanskaya” visa (yes, male representatives will forgive me, but also for them, including when applying for this class of visa) – the Department of Immigration of Australia does not care what level of IELTS they have. If you need English, you will be provided with free classes;
Applicants for Family Class Visas also do not need IELTS. The decision to provide free language courses will be taken depending on the very subclass of the visa;
Members of the families of the main applicants for a number of visa classes are not in principle obliged to provide IELTS results to the Department of Immigration of Australia. In this case, with a positive decision on the issuance of a visa to the main applicant, the Immigration Department will require the payment of the relevant courses for studying English in Australia itself;
Sponsored Visas – a series of visas in which the fundamental emphasis is on the amount of the bond left by the sponsor for a non-resident entering the territory of the country for a long stay;
Investor Visas are a series of visas for this subclass.
As stated earlier, the history of immigration to Australia is saturated with various cases and each of them is individual. Getting acquainted with them, you can meet a number of groups of people who have gone their way of immigration. Who through employment, who through marriage, and who in general – completely by a miracle. Of course, a predominant group of immigrants who started and completed their immigration process clearly within the framework regulated by the Department of Immigration of Australia. However, each of them has its own individual history of events.
To summarize, it’s only possible to answer the question “Do IELTS need?”: Not always, but it will not do you any harm, but on the contrary – it will increase your chances of success in the business started.
In all cases, in order to sort out and not make mistakes in the matter of the need to provide IELTS with the Department of Immigration of Australia, we strongly recommend that you consult with an expert.
